[ELISA Linux Features for Safety-Critical Systems WG] SOAFEE virtual symposium

Software Safety is very much in focus there.  But qualification, compliance with standards in a formal way, and such are indeed mostly outside of the SIG's scope.

That is why the collaboration is needed.

Hi Phill,

I've been in a few meetings in the SOAFEE sig.
My impression is that Software Safety has been a skeleton in the cupboard so far, and it has not yet been declared an issue explicitly.
Still, the last meeting I attended, 2 weeks ago, finally emerged as something that SOAFEE needs to face.
I agree with you that there's no useful topics for safety until now, but things may change in the near future.

Regards

Alessandro

Hi Elana, all,

Here is the link for the registration: https://soafee.io/blog/2022/virtual_symposium/

SOAFEE also has a mixed-critical workload orchestration tiger team which meets every other week. You can find the SOAFEE calendar with all meetings here: https://soafee.io/community/calendar/

I do not see too much about functional safety really happening there so far. Please correct me, if someone knows it better. It seems to be a good place for collaboration and bring a bit of additional drive to ELISA. I am following some of the activities based on systems WG and encouraged the discussion with SDV and SOAFEE also during the last ELISA workshop.

Best regards,

Philipp

Hi to all,

Today and tomorrow there is a virtual symposium (free, online) led by SOAFEE (Scalable Open Architecture for Embedded Edge) SIG.

Their mission:  "The initiative intends to deliver a cloud-native architecture enhanced for mixed-criticality automotive applications with corresponding open-source reference implementations to enable commercial and non-commercial offerings."

Worthwhile to attend to learn first-hand about this initiative.  Our good friend Jeffro brought this to my attention, and will be presenting.

Regards

Elana
