Re: Agenda - Kernel Development Process WG, 7.5.2020

Hi,

I was preparing a response to Lukas email, but I hit a dead-end and haven’t got back to it.

But, one of my first comments was simply to try to provide some background information for the uninitiated, especially those without access to ISO 26262. I’ll repeat it here, in case people want to prepare a bit for the discussion.

---

The uninitiated (like me) might like to read 26262-8 5.3 - 5.5 and 26262-8 Appendix B for those who have access to the standard.  A quick google revealed [1][2] which might be a start for those who don't (at least they're a quick read).  [3] offers a number of interesting insights into the general context.  Note that the clause is not applicable to OTS SW components (use clause 12 instead) as they are not built to order...

Sorry for the late message, but the agenda also came at the last minute.

Cheers

John

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards
